PS: For the 1st time, one of my sites got penalized by a Google update. I lost about 70% of my traffic on a niche site, going from 2,000+ visitors a day to about 500/600.

The funny thing is that the Google Adsense team has a different opinion on this site... at about the same time, my EPC has exploded!

Go figure!

The site in itself is very good - the quality is excellent, there are hundreds of people commenting on it, thousands of people who subscribe to my list etc... the reason for the penalty was clearly not the quality of the site... the reason is probably my anchor texts selection as the 4 keywords for which I lost my top rankings were the anchor texts I used a lot.

Oh... maybe it's also a manual penalty - one of my competitors reported my site on google's webmaster forum... not cool Joe... that's not cool.]]>

What is the recommended software or plugin to setup a membership website? It should have control over grades of membership levels like silver, gold, etc and should have the capability of drip-feeding content.

I want to crawl certain websites, parse them and create a data base out of the parsed data.

What this site generates is accurate and so complete! And it's been developed by a Belgian guy

The only downside is that there is no english version available yet. Give it a try, it's ads free* and I personally use it in our agency.

2) I am not receiving any pingbacks for this page. I am doing backlinking for this page and expect to see pingbacks. Are pingbacks applicable to pages also? Is there any setting I need to change to do this?

In this case if the exact match domain is lets say "abc", what should be the order of preference for the tld from SEO / google perspective. Assume that if I do nort get the emd, I will choose abcs by adding s as a suffix.
