Tks,
loksch

Sorry I am not an experience webber yet, but from the searching I have done and just by looking at addresses of links to click on to go to info I notice a lot had "aweber" in there and I have seen it with the so called heavy hitters that are making the BIG buck$ so I am thinking Aweber would be the one to go for for best quality, standards and support.
Just a thought. I will definately post how it works out for me, because I am planning on going with them with I get to that part of the Web Biz building.
Best to you,
Robski

I know that Perry Marshall has been promoting Infusionsoft autoresponder products. http://www.infusionsoft.com/. though it looks very expensive.

Thanks for this. $17.95 / mo for unlimited?
Is AWeber also unlimited for $19/ mo?
I don't know anything about infusion soft, but will check it out.

RE: AutoResponders
Aweber only. Think of it this way, it doesn't matter HOW big your list is, if they aren't GETTING the emails. I've signed up for quite a few different email lists, and Aweber goes to my inbox almost ALL of the time.

RE: AutoResponders
I don't see why you should pay for an autoresponder while there are EXCELLENT free autoresponder scripts out there. Sure you need to know a bit of php but than again it does save you a lot of money.

I just thought I would chip in for once. I tend to hide in the dark corners observing. You know the guys you should look out for lol.

Anyway mailchimp is really good if your just getting started with email marketing. They offer alot and the free version is the same as a paid. Its the size of the list that counts.

This maybe the case to run your own (to save a few dollars), but if you're on shared servers and start to get some volume within your list they seem to collapse (eg. try sending 1,500-3,000 emails and see how the hosting companies like you when you start putting to much load on your server), also what happens if you want some features added?

Sure it may only be a few bucks per month (for somethink like aweber), but you can make that back my selling a few affiliate products..

Also they are always adding new features. And there is less of a chance of over loading their servers, and you can grow your list quite large.

For those who are looking at a autoresponder service - you need to look at a couple of things..

1) Do they charge for just sending the emails

2) Do they charge for storage as well as sending, as this can be a gotcha - they may say $17 per month but in the fine print they say $17 per month for storage up to 1,000 contact and $0.01 per email sent. So if you send out a 5 part autoresponder series to 500 people, then that will cost you $17 (storage) + $25 (sending).

This is like double dipping (my client was caught in this scheme).

And for those who have seen people promoting Aweber as their own and may be able to do it at a lesser price is a thing called "White Labeling" in other words, they pay Aweber something like $15,000 to get their site re-branded, and they can charge what ever they like for it. But you also have to have a minimum amount of people to sign up for the service too.

So its not for the faint hearted.

RE: AutoResponders
I'm using Profollow (aweber private label) and the interface is simillar like aweber, even their name servers also use ns1.aweber.com
but they only minus the analytics but the price is great for 10.000 subs you only need to paid $19 compared to aweber $69

for aweber alternative try imnicamail , they had great feature with very low price and great deliverability rate ! here are some review: imnicamailreview.com

RE: AutoResponders
If you are serious about list building, meaning that you want
to build a professional level email list of subscribers, then Aweber
is the way to go. There is no better AR service out there and
even if it is little more expensive that's nothing compared to
what you can make when you have just 2000 subs on your list.

RE: AutoResponders
Still struggling and $19/mo for Aweber is quite a cost.

How about self hosted php script like phplist.com? It is open source. Anybody tried that before?

Just check out mailchimp, as what one of the guys shared.

It might be free for up to 1000 subscribers. But there is a cap of 6000 mails/mth.

Therefore you have to monitor it carefully.

Anyway i am lost as well ! Big Grin

RE: AutoResponders
Well, as long as you don't have a lot of subscribers and just want to test the waters, mailchimp might the way to go to get your feet wet at least. Yeah, you have to monitor it as you said but rather that than procrastinating or overpaying for another service, right? Wink

As for selfhosted PHP scripts, I can tell you from experience that a lot of stuff is going on at the backend when mailing and if some people constantly report your mails with the spam button in their inbox, you'll soon start getting blacklisted on several blacklists and then go to spamfolder all the time. Rather stick to the big providers that got connections with ISP's and ESP's than risking your domain and server IP to be banned for life.

I dont know much about traffic swarm, but it appears to be a decent service.

Why not go for Aweber. It is the leading autoresponder in the industry with trusted service and unmatched relaibility.
