Backlinks & Ranking
Hi guys,
I have promoted few keywords with the same amount of promotion for a month time (senuke, seolinkvine), but the backlink numbers are different with each keywords, any idea why that is the case?? And for the links and ranking shown on SLV stat, is that accurate? Also, while the keywords are anchored with 2 URL, e.g. http://www.site.com & http://www.site.com/product, both shown the same ranking on SLV stat. However, I don't see double listing when I google the keywords, any idea why?? Is it easier to get higher ranking on Yahoo than Google? I have keywords ranking top 10 for yahoo, while it's 100 for google. Does having say large number of backlinks (say thousandsss & above) to a site will definitely get a site in page 1 or 2? Any insights are appreciate! Thanks!! |

RE: Backlinks & Ranking
Hi Swong
No tool will be able to tell you the exact amount of backlinks that link to your site. The good thing is though that google sees every link and ranks you accordingly. If you have your site optimized for a targeted keyword and maintaining link velocity and diversity, eventually you will be on the first page. This time can be anywhere from 1 minute when your site get's indexed to a really long time, like months. It all depends on the number of people that are competing for that keyword. I think the SEOLinkVine stat's tool is pretty accurate although keep in mind that google may return different results depending on what part of the world you're in. And for your ranking in Yahoo vs Google question... well I find it much easier to rank on google. But really this is due to that we're concentrating on studying Google's algorithm since most user use google that any of the other search engines. RE: Backlinks & Ranking
Thanks Niktodorov!
I am also wondering when I check on the keywords competition, the top 10 sites are having backlinks less than 50 (roughly), and they are not high PR backlinks, while I have 300+ links already, I still rank in page 4, any idea on this case? To my understanding, while domain age plays a part, how big does it play? like if my site is only 1 month old with 200+ links will still rank lower than those older domains? Also, say, if the site contents are only 60-70% relevant to the keywords and the products, does it affect big on the ranking? One last question, when I search by site:abc.com/product, the page is indexed, and I have built 200+ links to the page, however, when I google the anchor txt, the page is nowhere in the ranking, any idea on this? Thanks a tons! |

RE: Backlinks & Ranking
Now are you referring to product launch model or creating a niche site?
I personally don't monitor the backlinks of my competition because I don't think it's accurate. However this may also be because I'm doing product launches and maybe someone doing niche sites can better answer your question (if you're doing niche sites that is). Relevancy is important to google when they rank you. If your content is not relevant they will simply place you farther down in the serps. You can use the wonder wheel to see make your pages more relevant. Did your website ever appear for that particular anchor text. It could be that google is testing you. To pass the test you need to you have to build more backlinks more quickly thane you did before. RE: Backlinks & Ranking
Yeah I'm doing niche sites...so guess, the content with the right amount of related keywords can be ranking factors then huh
How is internal linking as the ranking factor? important for seo? Appreciate if anyone can share more insights on doing niche sites! Thanks. |

RE: Backlinks & Ranking
This is slightly off topic but I think is a good place to ask the question - the length of time to rank with a brand new domain - i have read anywhere up to nine months - I have also read that if you buy and aged domain with a page ranking it is pretty quick - any thoughts huys - what is your preference - I would like to do apole on this lol
