keyword tracking in GCD 4
Can someone explain, in simple terms, the keyword tracking program that comes with GCD? I am having trouble finding a simple explanation and demonstration in the video library.

Hi,

I suppose you're talking about GCA.

Basically what this software does is that it checks that you're making money with each of the keywords you're bidding on.

If a keyword doesn't make you money this software tells it to you, and you can then stop bidding on it.

How does it work basically?

1/ For each keyword in your campaigns, GCA sets a redirecting URL, so instead of sending the visitors straight to your affiliate site, it intercepts the click from the visitor, generate a tracking ID, add this tracking ID to your affiliate URL and redirect the visitor to your affiliate page using this tracking ID.

Now if the visitor purchases, your affiliate members area (like clickbank for example) will display the tracking ID that generated the sale.

2/ You then have to download a sales report from your affiliate members area (like clickbank). Those reports have the tracking ID information.

3/ You upload this report into GCA and it does the connection between the keywords and the sales thanks to those tracking IDs. That way it is able to display which keywords generate sales and which keywords don't generate any sale.

Armed with this knowledge you can then remove the non converting keywords from your adwords campaigns and only pay for the keywords that bring you money.

What I have just explained here is the basic function of GCA. But this tool is much more powerful than that (and complex to use because of that).

It can automatically change your bid prices on the keyword level to ensure that none of your keywords are not profitable.

I encourage you to look at the tutorial videos in the GCD members area for that.

OK - thanks. there are many videos and a lot to learn. Will GCA create the unique URLs in your adwords account or is that a manual thing that you do --like downloading the results from the affiliate manager?

Yes it does it automatically Smile

When you clone a direct linking campaign via the GCD interface it creates everything for you.

But the problem is that you will suffer from the 2x serving rule of google adwords so at the end you still have some manual work to do (except if you're ready to outbid the advertiser you're cloning but this is not recommended)

I dont use and havent for the GC system but tracking 202 does the same thing and its free.. You take your subid which you get from your clickbank analytics when a sale is made, upload it into your tracking 202 and whala it gives you all the info you want.

which words converted, from which site .. blah blah ... far too much to mention here...
