RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
Hi Seashell,
Welcome to the forum there are so many great people here with great advice. I am sure you will find what your looking for here including our very own Guru VitaVee who really is the 'dude' when you want advice on SEO. About your question I think you will do well to actually create your own backlinks from a variety of sources. Google and other search engines like to see a variety of natural looking links combined with Good solid content. So in short you would be better served creating an authority site that has great fresh content and getting 'constant' good links from many sources. Of course high PR is nice but at present I would not worry myself about that too much. As part of a good backlinking strategy you would naturally get high and low PR backlinks. Hope that helps and good luck for the future! “The Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself”: FDR |

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
Hi Seashell,
Quality beats quantity ever day. As the PR scale is logarithmic, a high PR backlink carries significantly more weight than a lower PR link - for example, in Ryan Diess' latest freebie "The Authority Code" he states that one PR5 backlink is equivalent to 555 backlinks from PR1 sites. Whether the actual figure of 555 is correct or not is to a large extent irrelevant, the main premise to take away from this is that high PR backlinks are worth disproportionately more than low ones. As Jnshield states above, I would stay away from buying links and just build my backlinks in a natural way. I recommend:

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
Definetly build your backlinks in a natural way - as the quality is key when getting backlinks.
As Vita Vee has already shown websites with less backlinks to that of its competitors - even a website with under 500 backlinks to that of a site with over 2 million yet the site with fewer backlinks had a higher rank in the serps. I would definetly advise to generate a natural backlink scheme with everything anaylised and targetted and you will be overwhelmed at how well your site performs |

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
Like what Jnshield said, of course, you will definitely want a mix of quantity and quality. If you only have high PR backlinks to your site, it will look very suspicious and you could get penalized. So, for me I would say that both quantity and quality are equally important.
How long it takes to climb depends on the competitiveness of the keyword. If you don't have many strong competitor's, then it's really easy...

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
Try to get backlinks only from quality and relevant sites and don't built links on bulk, try to built 25 backlinks for a website in a month page rank doesn't matter but try to get only theme relevant and quality backlinks

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
I must disagree, google for "sex", a competetive phrase, however one site managed to get in number #2 in just 3 months, having build 3k backlinks almost all from spammed to death low PR chinese sites.... Currently he's still ranking top 5 here. Not saying quantity > quality. Just saying that both methods work.

My Idea is making less backlinks from Hi PR sites is better then making lots of backlinks from Low PR sites.

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
I think you have to balance between quality links and quantity.
1 good authrity link could be more valueable than 100 PR 0 links.. but then every link is useful. get as many as you can, but don't spam. |

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
HI
while doing back linking not only focus on one side like if your are focusing on quantity then you will only get the back links you will never get a good page rank but if you are focusing on quality work it means that link are placed on high PR sites than you only get the PR, that is the reason that this work is done with the combination. |

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
We would agree. Quality links are of higher value to your website, than simply the quantity of links.

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
Obviously, quality links are more valuable than quantity. The main difference is that higher Quality links will be more powerful for our website & it also improves positions at a faster rate. It is time taking to get quality links. The Lower Quality links are easily obtained, but doesn't have the same weightage.
A small amount of high quality, most targeted, authoritative and relevant links will do more for rankings than 1000 irrelevant links. |

RE: Link Quality vs Quanity
One quality link can beat hundreds of lower quality links. Google has made its system very sophisticated so if you are just getting lower quality link it won't help much in raising your site ranking.

Well seriously friends making links that are one way links and build naturally not buy . but still when we more focused on quality some time its not worth for you so both have a balanced demand for the site.
