On another point regarding ranking effictivemess. Is a domain name which ends with .org as effective as a .com or .net? I am competing in an area which is not as competetive, yet. And the .com and .net domain names I wanted have been taken.

I tend to thing that .com domains are easier to rank, my second option would be to go with either a .net or .org domain. If there's money to be made in this niche and there's not much competition go for the .org domain, it's not a problem. Even for a competitive niche it's a good alternative.
