Changing Headers Plugin?
I've seen on some of your sites...where you have:
Product X Review
And the header is reading Product X Review...
Then, when I go to Product Y Review...
The header text changes to Product Y Review

How do you do this? i can't locate a plugin for it? It seems it's not changing an image, just text.

Thanks!

RE: Changing Headers Plugin?
Hi Brandon, my site doesn't do this. But I'm guessing it's not a plugin. It's probably theme related. Many people use the Flexsqueeze theme. Perhaps it's a function of that theme.

RE: Changing Headers Plugin?
Hey Jack,

Yeah, they do appear to be flexsqueeze sites...which I have. I'm trying to search it right now.
will post back if I find anything.

Thanks,
B

RE: Changing Headers Plugin?
This is defenitely theme related. With flexsqueeze the header is made so that it automatically displays the site name.

This in its self wouldn't cause it to change, it's when someone also has a plugin like Headspace or All In One SEO, and they modify the site name for the purpose of controlling what appears in the title tags.

If you look at my site in the signature, you will see that my headers don't change as you go to different pages even though I have the flexsqueeze theme. This is because I manually edited the header from the theme files.

If you don't have flexsqueeze and you want your theme to do the same thing you just have to manually open the header.php file in your theme's folder and place the following code:

PHP Code:
<h3><a href="<?php echo get_option('home'); ?>/"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></a></h3>

Find where your header goes and replace it with this code.

RE: Changing Headers Plugin?
Thanks for the info.
I do have flexsqueeze, and I'd like to be able to do what rob is doing at robselaney.com/reviews
each review has a different title...

I'm looking to target IM niche right now, but would like to be able to make my niche sites doing something similar to what he's doing.

I also use all in one seo, but adding the title doesn't change the link displayed there in the header. thoughts?

RE: Changing Headers Plugin?
Alright since you already have flexsqueeze you can do this a couple of different ways.

You need a plugin to modify the title tags, in this example I'll explain using "headspace", but i think you can achieve the same result with "All In One SEO" also.

So you install headspace, right. You then have to adjust some settings. You go to settings >> headspace >> page modules.

Once you're there drag the "site name" box so that it looks like in the picture.

Then go to edit a post, and you should be able to see an additional module for "Headspace". In the "site name" field enter whatever you want. This will then appear in the header for that particular post.

This should do it.

RE: Changing Headers Plugin?
Nik,
That is FANTASTIC. Thank You. That worked fine.

All In One Seo is what I have been using for years..always thought it did basically the same as headspace 2....but it doesn't. That worked fine.

However, I see that headspace 2 doesn't have keywords in source code....yet all in one seo does. Is that another setting? I'll have to check it out.
You know what Nik...never mind...I see where it's at. Just added it and now I've got some keywords in my source code also. Awesome!

Gave you "Thanks" Smile
