Trackback and pingbacks

Hey guys with the hlp of vitavee's brilliant videos i have managed to create my 1st blog successfully.I have also added an internal blog as recommended.
i am using the flexibility 3 theme.

My question is that at the end of a post i see Trackbacks/Pingbacks tab which is linking to my internal blog.Is it right to retain it as it is or do i need to remove it (if yes how to remove it?).
Are these reciprocal links?Because i heard google penalizes sites with reciprocal links...

You do not want to approve to the pingbacks and trackbacks. This does result in a reciprocal link.

There is an option to turn off the approval for these in wordpress. I can't think exactly where it is at the moment but it's in your settings. Sorry, I won't be able to look until a bit later.

Hi guys,

I think it's Settings --> Discussion --> uncheck "Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)"
