Affiliate product change
I am successfully promoting a product at the moment using a selection of product name keywords. I have found out that they are changing their product / brand name. So that means my posts and pages and all my backlinks in a million places on the internet will be outdated
![]() So to take advantage of the new product name I want to have a plan of action to update my website. I wonder should I just rewrite the sales page and replace the keyword where necessary as a new page and start building links to that one instead? Just like adding a new product? What do you guys think?

RE: Affiliate product change
Is it traffic mayhem,
Fortunately, I was aware that this was not the product name and waited until Mo Latif came up with the new one. It is much better if you simply change your current page's title, description, and content to reflect that of the new product name. That way you still have some power from the links you've already built as apposed to starting from scratch. And start building backlinks with the new name right away. It may take a few days for google to realize the change and update the keywords you currently rank for. RE: Affiliate product change
Thanks Nik
It's not Traffic Mayhem, it's a non IM niche product. You guys are far to aggressive on the IM stuff for me to compete! The product name is changing over a period of weeks / months from what I understand so I need to consider if people will stop searching for the old product name during that time. It's not too much bother creating a new page and at least I will have a head start on the new name! Cheers!

RE: Affiliate product change
Hm, I was thinking for product launches since no one would be searching for the old product name. But it really depends on a number of things. Like how much traffic you're currently getting, and if you think that traffic will completely stop once the name changes.
But if the new product name doesn't have much competition yet, I might keep the old page and create another for the new name. RE: Affiliate product change
Great thanks Nik
I think that's what I'll do then. That way I can monetize for both sets of keywords! Cheers Lyndon

RE: Affiliate product change
I had the same problem with "traffic mayhem" changed to "auto mass traffic". Fortunately (I am sorry guys I can't remember it was Nik or Rob, I had a conversation with them both and I am not sure) informed me and I created a new post. Now I am #5 and I want to "beat" my "neighbor" Nik who is #1 and #2 for days. he he he
![]() P.S. I finally managed to remember who told me about the change. And the winner is Rob!!! Thanks my friend!!! |

RE: Affiliate product change
I saw when they announced that course. Mo said that name wasn't definite yet. I wouldn't want to waste my resources building links to something I wasn't sure what the name was going to be.
The good thing is, when they did announce it, everyone got an equal start on the link building for the new term. Yes, in a case like this one I definitely would have created new posts instead of changing the old one. RE: Affiliate product change
Jack the problem was that I was the last one who started promoting the course (my traffic mayhem review was written and published on September 17) and only 2 days later Rob informed me for the change. So on September 19 I had to write and publish a new one 4-5 days delayed from other players. But thanks God applying VV's FOTP method I am #5 now and my goal is to beat Nik (#1 & 2!)

RE: Affiliate product change
I'm a bit confused as to what you mean dimmy. I'm talking about when they first announced it as "Traffic Mayhem" they said at that time that the name wasn't definite. So I knew right then I wasn't going to bother creating pages for it.
Anyway, I hope you do very well. It is certainly possible to beat him. But he has had his site for a while and has also learned the ropes after almost a year doing this stuff. Good luck to both of you.
