PPC VS Free Traffic

RE: PPC VS Free Traffic
Vita Vee's method is the way to go!... You can either trade your time for the money (which takes longer but it's free) or you can trade your money for the time (which hopefully you will save, but it will cost you).

I simply use it to test what keywords will fly. Then I drop it & go totally organic.

RE: PPC VS Free Traffic
Most people (I'm one of them) get killed when using PPC. Its turned into a monster and very difficult to profit if u dont have the budget. The trick is to find a profitable KW and it seems like most of those KW are being dominated by the big boys.
Right now its all about free traffic for me and perhaps one day dabble in PPC again.

RE: PPC VS Free Traffic
PPC is a great way to make some income online, but it can also be costly, and sometimes require a huge budget. I play with PPC every now and then, I usually keep an eye out for new trends and/or breaking news to get high volume low competition keywords and push related products or services, the downside to this is that it does require some work and the keywords I find are very short lived. So, I do most my marketing via free traffic methods, I get a whole lot more satisfaction out of free traffic.

RE: PPC VS Free Traffic
light_taurus,

There are other alternatives to google adwords, that you may want to look into first, where the price per click is a lot less (more like $0.05 CPC rather than $2.00 on google).

I think that the best way to make money is by using both free traffic and ppc. Of course it is easier said than done, but it should always be your goal.

Yes we are on a clients site..because we have also optimized the landing pages on the site our price per click dropped considerably as well as the quality score went up.

Which resulted in 18 pages with PR4, which was up from 1 PR 3 page across the whole site.

A good course to start on is one from Perry Marshall, I've learnt a lot with this, since I used to lose bucks hand over fist!! And it was nearly like gambling for me.. Sad Wanting so bad to get the #1 spot..

But now after reading that and with a little help from some experts in my country we are blitzing it. The client is also happy since they are getting about 18 leads per week (up from 3 per week). Their products range from $2,000 up to $11,000 so you can imagine what an extra 15 leads per week means to them and their bottom line.

RE: PPC VS Free Traffic
Hi,

Lots of people stop PPC because it becomes too expensive. IMO it just means that your competitor are pushing you out of the market.
That's for sure that you should get prepared to loose money upfront in order to do some testing but after this painfull phase you'll see what works and what doesn't

SEM is as important as SEO i guess you need both if you want to build up a sustainable online business.

RE: PPC VS Free Traffic
The problem with most people using PPC as a method is that they do not understand it fully, so they enter it blindly and it often ends up being like gambling with the rush of wanting to be up top (as this is what most gurus tell them..if you wanna make the most money you gotta be at postion #1 - and these gurus forget to tell them some key info) rather than taking their time with it, starting of with some highly targeted keywords (even just target phrase or exact match terms to start, get those converting, then increase it once they have got the hang of it).

Then, once you have some good converting ads, then look at increasing it, as google will reduce your bid price even though you are on the top spot (you could even be paying less than the people below you - since your quality score and page a converting quite well)

This resource is probably the best on the market - it's from Perry Marshall who is the grandaddy of PPC

I consider ppc way more powerful and of course organized but it is also difficult to master and there is lot of chance of loosing money if you are newbie.

RE: PPC VS Free Traffic
Greetings!!

PPC vs Free Traffic.

I have to say that I'm a geek when it comes to learning about marketing. I had purchased numerous courses online and from all the creditable people that is really making money online, does a lot of free traffic generating. It is so hard to break even with these crazy high bids for PPC.

I do admit that it will take longer before you start seeing results, however, whenever you do and start making sales. All of the sales are PROFITS.
