Does traffic help rankings ?

When trying to work a particular keyword -does it help to drive traffic to that particular landing page ? or does that not make much different on the rankings ? Also does running a ppc campaign for that keyword help boost organic rankings ?

The only thing I can add here is a little speculation. I have heard that Google does look at Alexa rankings for determining organic ranking. But like I said, that is speculation, I don't know how much of an effect that would really have. If it is true, obviously it would be only one part of the many variables they look at to determine rankings.

PPC is something I realy know nothing about. I had my bout with adwords and don't want to go back to it until I have money to burn. So anything PPC related I really don't have many answers.

dont think so. if it were, the best seo method would be to spend tons of money on ptc traffic.

IMHO yes, google does look for traffic and rss subscriobers and do-follow and nofollow backlinks. Only sites that appear natural will rise in the SEs since it is very unnatural for a site with NO CONTENT to get traffic and high PR backlinks

No, running Google Adwords won't help you in terms of SEO.

It all depends on the traffic. PPC will probably not help, but steady traffic from other sources, that looks natural in Google eyes should help with rankings.

Hi guys,

There is evidence that traffic helps rankings, but not directly. Traffic means, clicks to other pages, actions like rss feed subscriptions etc. As it is said Google counts site activity and thus traffic is good for rankings.

Well I do not think that Traffic help ranking. We can only increase ranking through link building . So I do not think that Traffic might be helpful in ranking .

Traffic increase may be supportive to page rank but not surely according to my idea, I mu opinion Back links and links building are the good ways to get PR high.

the activity should help the ranking, pay attention to the bounce out rate and try to keep them on your site long, it should be good strategy for your ranking

Traffic surly help in ranking of any website as social media is mainly help in getting good amount of traffic. All social media activities also help in ranking of website in search engine. Similarly PPC also give direct traffic to website and i think it also help in organic ranking if your website is well optimize.....

If you working on a particular keyword, surely it increases the traffic for that keyword and it leads to increase in the ranking position for that keyword..

The activity and visitor engagement helps ranking. Commenting, social bookmarking and stuff like this will increase rank. Pure traffic just for numbers will not increase rank. Bounce rate, site loading time, errors, time spent on site per visitor are factors in ranking also.
