Backlink Battleplan Review - Can You Save Time AND Money?

I have recently been approached by one of my forum members to review his premium training product, Backlink Battleplan. As many of you know I often get access to new programs and training materials. Shane Melaugh, the author of Backlink Battleplan, asked me to give his course and materials a thorough review.

Who is Shane Melaugh ?

As I have previously mentioned Shane is the author and owner of Backlink Battleplan. Many of you will also know how much I like good backlinking software and training courses. This is Shane's first major product release although he has also released some great free reports such as Backlink Quick-Start (Download link - no optin required). Shane is a Swiss Internet Marketer who specialises in SEO and online product marketing which places him in a perfect position to advise and coach others.

Backlink Battleplan Overview

Backlink Battleplan, as the name suggests, is a straight forward plan that you can use to enhance the exposure of your website in the search engines.
Shane claims that this is the exact strategy he uses to gain great position in the search engine rankings. Backlink Battleplan however is focused on doing all this without the need for expensive software or subscription services, purely relying on free or bartered service providers. He delves into leveraging some site services and software to automate a large part of the process.

Breakdown of Backlink Battleplan



Moving swiftly onto the meat of this Backlink Battleplan Review I'll briefly outline the type of content Shane's course provides then examine it in more detail. The course is essentially a PDF backed by video screen capture demonstration. There are around 20 videos in the members area including an opening overview from Shane. He also includes a handy printer friendly version of the core manual, for those that prefer a more tactile experience from their reading material.

Account Creation : Introduces you to some free resources to create the various accounts you will need in order to implement Backlink Battleplan. In this first part of Shane's course you encounter his ingenuity and use of free services to semi automate parts of the process.

Social Bookmarking : All together there are in fact three videos that cover Social bookmarking and each address the need and appropriate use of little known set ups that allow for automation. It is in the first one of these videos that you will be exposed to how they are set up. As you move through the videos and PDF you learn when and why to apply Social Bookmarking.

Blog Commenting : This section of the pdf combined with the video of the same name introduces a semi automatic process to, not only discover but implement this part of the Backlink Battleplan swiftly and effectively.

RSS Distribution : introduces the concept of RSS and shows you how to automate the process using free resources in a way that few people, except owners of Backlink Battleplan know about.

Article Spinning : This module brings together some powerful free resources that will show you how to effectively create many articles from a single seed article. The process is called spinning and there are many paid products and services that will cost you hundreds of dollars, Shane has laid out a method using free resources that matches some of the best paid services available today.

Article Submissions : Naturally once you have created your spun articles in the previous section you will now want to distribute them. This is of course where the power of content distribution starts and Shane utilizes some very effective free distribution methods.

Blog Network : As some of you will already know and if not now you do, diversity of links throughout the web will help your strategy greatly. To this end Shane shows you how to use more free resources to automate this process and leverage other people blogs to gain valuable backlinks.

Web 2.0 Distribution : Staying with the theme of diversity by leveraging the power of popular web 2.0 sites, this section of Backlink Battleplan reveals some little known short cuts to semi automate your submissions.

Video Creation : A simple video can have great benefit in your overall Backlink Battleplan and Shane shows you how to make powerful videos quickly and easily for free.

Video Distribution : Carrying on from the previous module here you will learn how to effectively distribute your newly created videos for maximum effect.

Automatic Backlinks : Of all the sections in Backlink Battleplan this one is truly automated and will help you gain backlinks with little or no real effort.

RSS Mashup : This is a more advanced version of the initial RSS module and follows up on all the previous work done to consolidate and increase your content exposure. Some of you will recognise the term and know what this is all about for those that don't I wont spoil the surprise but this should not be underestimated.

Link Hubs : This Backlink Battleplan module will help you pull all of the previous modules together and help you to systemise your efforts for the maximum benefit of your backlinking campaign.

Rinse and Repeat : As the name suggests this is a round up and consolidation of all that Shane reveals and shows you how to make use of a solid Battleplan.

Who is Backlink Battleplan For ?

Whilst on the surface of it Backlink Battleplan would seem to be a beginners guide to backlinking and SEO in general, I found that this is not the case and that in fact it is a comprehensive guide to leverage the many free resources available.

Many of you know that I love to have automated systems set up for my own backlinking strategies and that I also utilise various software to implement these strategies. With that in mind what Shane has achieved and highlights in Backlink Battleplan, is that you can use free resources to automate and streamline your backlinking campaigns if you follow a plan.

This means that Backlink Battleplan is a great resource for anyone whether you are just entering the world of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or if you already use software to automate your backlinking.

In the instance of the beginner it will serve to teach and show you how backlinking can, and does effect the search engine position of your web pages and at the same time make sure you are following a structured plan rather than using a hit and miss approach that I see all too often.

Similarly for those that use automation software, Backlink Battleplan will add to your arsenal of resources with little more effort than it does to set up a lot of software in the first instance. Shane introduces some free automation tactics that even some advanced software does not utilize. Further to this I am also aware that a lot of people who rely on the software to do the job for them still have only a basic understanding of the principles. Backlink Battleplan would help these people to further understand these principles and not only add additional resources to their campaigns as well as perhaps enabling them to get the most out of any software they may use.

In short Backlink Battleplan could benefit anyone who uses SEO and backlinking in their online business.

Conclusions

In conclusion Backlink Battleplan is a straight forward, as the name suggests, plan to leverage free services and software to automate and systemise a backlinking campaign. Shane has gone to great length to make sure that all the details are attended to and presents them in a straight forward, easy to follow manner.

As many of you will know SEO and the use of backlinking is a passion of mine so it is refreshing to see an up to date guide and course that implements Free or Bartered services in a structured plan.

From a practical point of view the members area is well presented follows a logical flow of information each step building on the foundations laid before. Shane also provides reference to several information services to help beginners in some aspects of website development and wordpress setup that he does not cover in this course.

Overall Backlink Battleplan is a great straight forward course for any discerning SEO beginner or expert and serves not only to educate in the reasons for backlinks in any SEO campaign.

Summary and Recommendations

As you know, or should do by now, my field of expertise and interest is SEO and it is this method that I choose to promote my websites and online business interests. Therefore I feel I am in a great position to offer you my personal opinion about Shane's Backlink Battleplan so here it is.

I found the material well presented and easy to follow with just enough detail to make the training concise and to the point. You can easily go through the material in a day and comprehend the nature of Shane's particular approach to backlinking.

I would recommend, as I would with any training, going through all of the material once without taking any action and then use the handy checklist Shane provides to implement Backlink Battleplan. There are some moderately complex setting up instructions for parts of the plan but Shane makes a great job of breaking them down into bite sized chunks.

Many self proclaimed SEO experts may see this as a beginners course but I find it prudent not to dismiss such courses so easily on the basis that it utilizes free resources. Whilst I am very familiar with the principles of backlinking and SEO in general there are a few things that Shane has brought to my attention that I will be utilizing in my own campaigns and business.

As the world of SEO develops and search engines refine their algorithms and parameters it is always good to keep up to date and explore other peoples perspective and methods to refine your own. This is why I always look into how and what others are doing and Shane's Backlink Battleplan is no different offering a fresh structured approach that is within the means of any new Internet Marketers as well as experienced professionals.

In short I feel happy and confident that anyone investing, not only the purchase price but, the time to implement the lessons you can learn from Backlink Battleplan can only benefit their online business needs and will recoup their investment many times.

Nice review, V2. I've been following Shane for the past couple of weeks and find him to be a breath of fresh air in the IM world. I also bought his Battle Plan after being impressed by his videos. Now I just need to find the time to go through them all.

What an indepth review of a great product!

I agree with everything you say about the course. I´ve bought Shane´s Backlink Battleplan a couple of weeks ago and found it one of the best courses I´ve ever bought (and like many of us, I´ve bought way too many :-) ).
Shane´s course is very well structured and the quality of his video tutorials is just brilliant.
There is a lot of courses out there on backlinks but in my opinion a lot of those courses even though they might promote more advanced backlinking techniques I often found them rather poor concerning the quality of the tutorials.
Shane has definitely helped me tremendously with gaining a lot more understanding about backlinks and I hope that he´ll get a ton of new customers from your review. At the current price he´s offering the course for it really is a steal!

Without a doubt this is a great product that every newbie should get... it is too bad the the truly good products are very hard to find while all the crapy products are all out there being promoted by all the so called "gurus"...

What tools may you need (you say he delves into some software or services).
Would subscriptions to services, like Senuke, LD, Seolinkvine, etc. become unnecessary? (I would love it... )

I have been following Shane for a while and he is a great guy, much like Vita, as he does try to help on a personal level wherever possible. His videos are really well made and he has a great clear way of explaining things.

You can do all of Shane's methods for free (once you've bought his product!)

I think link diversity is the key. I am now trying to get as many different types of links as possible to my sites. I have introduced Sick Submitter for forum profiles and use Scrapebox for finding high PR sites to manually add comments. I have found a few sites that I have successfully left my links on and they are PR5 pages - they are very valuable links! It takes time but those links are worth the effort.

Thanks. If you're short on time you can go through the PDF guide instead of watching the videos, you will not get as many details but if you have some experience in linkbuilding it might be enough

You're welcome.

I didn't implement Shane's strategy, I only played with some of the free resources he mentioned in his course. Didn't know many of them and they are very helpful.

Are you using Senuke + LD at the same time?
You could go with only 1 of them.

But I don't recommend that you stop all of them, as good as Shane's product is the manual approach will never be as performant as senuke + paid blog networks. Even if Shane shows how to automate many parts.

Backlink Battleplan is excellent for those who can't afford to pay for linkbuilding softwares/services.

If I were you I would let Mohammed do the job for you, it's hands free daily-linkbuilding, you can't find this anywhere else

Also you can be sure that he is using a foolproof strategy that works all the time: this is the exact method I have been using for a loooong looong time to rank all my pages.

Now that being said, depending on the competition level of your targeted keywords it can be a good idea to add other link sources to your arsenal.
