Jay, I would just like to add that this desire of "getting some sanity back in my life" is also something that crossed my mind some times ago.

This usually happens when you do too many things without really moving forward. Working on too many tasks that don't bring any result. Going in too many directions.

I have found 2 main causes for this:

1/ "Information Overload" that leads to "Analysis Paralysis"
2/ Trying to build several income streams (each using a different business model) at the same time.

If you fall into one of those categories please stop everything, take a breath, choose one and only one model that you like and go for it - make sure you unsubscribe from ALL email lists, mine included, until you give this one single model a fair chance.

I did the same mistake of spreading myself too thin and didn't get forward. That almost had me quit IM alltogether but I'm really glad I reconsidered my strategy, found out that I wasn't getting forward because of working on too many projects simultaneously and then changed around everything by focusing on just one thing at a time, getting it profitable, automating it as much as possible, then moving on to the next thing. I think I'm on the right path now, thanks for the post Vita

Process
1. Research
2. Find a Product where number 1 ranks with less than 200 backlinks
3. Register a domain starting with that keyword
4. Use atleast 2 paid networks and USA

Fact
1. IM is like any other business and will require a lot of time and some money as investment.
2. With Amazon you can sell almost anything. People love to shop on amazon and for many the conversion rate is 7% which is jolly good. Commissions go upto 8.5% if you get enough numbers. Many times people buy multiple items if you lead them to Amazon.
3. Takes atleast 2 months to rank generally. Lesser if you invest in older domains.

After Ranking
1. If the keyword is lucrative, build a deterrent factor and try to get your backlink count to 500 to deter others. You can do this with prokfile links and stuff. Ofcourse might not stop me from coming after you

Although very frustrating, my first 2 sites not ranking higher than position 9 in google even after following a certain well known program to the letter (G.S - from G.B in Bournemouth), so any advice is always greatly appreciated.

There is one thing people need to know when it comes to affiliate-marketing.
A very important thing that actually not many marketers know of or should I say think of.
It is not only about you and what you need and what product you are promoting.
In the end, yes it IS you that will earn the money if you do it the right way, but you need to remember that the journey is not always about you. The biggest misstake people do is that they grab a product and engage the promotion in all possible ways. But if there is no market for it there is no way you will get revenue.

What I mean is: You need to know your audience. Sometimes you need to approach the IM from the other side. Flip it. If you promote a product in a desperate way to make money that will shine through and people will not buy the product from you because they know that you are doing this for your own glory. Which we know is the case for that matter. But if you promote the product in a way that makes people believe that you are doing it because the customer really NEED it, then you´ve come a long way. To succeed it´s not about what you need, in the end it´s all about what the buyers need. Your job is to persuade the buyers that they need the product.

If you promote stuff over and over again just because you think it brings money, well no one will buy it if you don´t promote it the right way. :o)
