Site Slapped?
Hey Vita and fellow SEOers,
I have this problem where some of my sites go from the top 3 in google to the very last page of relevant results (usually around 500-600 position near the very end of relevant results). I don't spam links or anything to these sites. Some of my sites are over 6 months old. Most backlinks are just profile links from 50 or so sites, not many backlinks. I'm just wondering if anyone knows why this happens and how to get my site back. I know in time it will come back, but I've had sites gone for more than 2 weeks now and it's frustrating. Should I just focus on adding content to the site? Should I do some SEnuke web2.0 article submissions? I'm also wondering if Vita has any comment on this type of problem, perhaps in an older thread that someone can link me to. |

RE: Site Slapped?
The links that you're building, though better than nothing, are not very good. I don't think profile links are very effective. The reason for that is that compared to the hundreds of profile pages already present on whichever sites you're using, your profile pages are not very unique, and could be filtered by google. Therefore, only some of the backlinks you're created count.
The best kind of link is one that is surrounded by unique content. The usual way to accomplish this is to submit unique articles to high page rank sites and place your link inside the articles. Because the articles are unique they will not be filtered by google and every backlink will count. RE: Site Slapped?
Yea I do agree with you. I'm only going to mainly build web2.0 sites and article directory links and then some social bookmarking, not much though.
Why do profile links seem to be the rage for the past year or so? Tons of people do them, but I really haven't seen huge results from them either. |

RE: Site Slapped?
The profile pages you put the links on don't really have much unique content on them. So when google filters them out from the search results you really don't benefit from them anymore.

That's simple... because people are lazy ![]() Does the idea of just paying a service like blastbank, Drip feed blast or megalinkblaster to do all the work for you sound great? Or find proton of fiverr to do a 5k-7.5k xrumer blast for you for just 5 bucks? Just insert your links and anchor text, pay money, and you are good to go! I bet it does.... Compare that to signing up to services like AMA,UAW, having to write articles and spin them... omfg! p.s offtopic: how come the eyes on my emoticons disappeared? Is anyone else seeing the same thing? |

LOL yes, our smileys have been blind for a couple of weeks now.
![]() I think it must be from an upgrade on the forum template or something. I'm sure Vita will get a fix for it soon.
