Is a PPC campaign really necessary?

Hi everyone, as you can see I am new here so hi. I am new to internet marketing and I am studying online as well while working as a marketing exec.

The business I work for has wanted to focus on organic listings only, without having to use a PPC campaign, leaving the campaign as a last resort.

My question is this - Is it really necessary to have a PPC campaign? I mean can it be left as a last resort? or is it an essential part of internet marketing?

PPC is not at all necessary. Many people get great results with organic listings and free traffic. Really, it's the best way to go. If you can rank well for the keywords that you would pay to get clicks with, why pay?

I guess the only reason why I thought it may be important was because our keyword niche is truly competitive, and with the brand being relatively new it may have been a way to get a leg up on the competition. I have researched the pricing according to the keywords used and cannot believe that they would pay that much unless, of course, the profits they are making more than makes up for the PPC campaigns.

Well Dreamrage if you think that your keywords are really very competitive then simply you first need to focus on all organic activities and after that when you think their is no way remain to compete then start PPC campaign

Another strategy you can use with PPC is pay for those extra higher listings on the paid results and see how well your offer converts for that keyword.

If you get good or really fantastic conversions for that keyword you can them switch from PPC to SEO for that specific keyword now that you know it how much it converts

PPC Campaign is not necessary. If you want to increase traffic and business in Short time then you can go for PPC, it will give you benefit for short time, but if you will do SEO it will give you long time profit.
