Micro Niche Adsense Site Advice
I have found some very promising keywords with low comp and good CPC.
I plan to build micro niche sites with them. My homepage will be optimized for the primary keyword and it will be an exact match domain. My question is how many, if any, additional pages should I create initially? I outsource everything and I am trying to watch costs of content creation. So do I need to have a 5-10 page site and focus on promoting that primary keyword, or should I try to rank it just with the homepage first, and if it shows promise, then build it out? fyi, I will have the priv, contact, about us, etc. on there. Thanks!! Bean |

RE: Micro Niche Adsense Site Advice
Hi bean. I'm pretty new, but here's what I do.
I add as many pages as I can, both because it increases backlinks, and you can better target specific terms. The only time I won't add a page is if the page title or content triggers low paying adsense ads. If your homepage is serving up ads that pay $2.50, you don't want to send visitors to a page where ads pay 2 cents. I too use exact match domains, but you can target different phrases with an exact match domain. Lets say for example your domain is banana.com. If you go the the Google keyword tool and research the word banana, you'll also see related search results for terms like "banana smoothie" or "banana health benefits". Many of these variations of the keyword may only get 500 exact searches per month. But if you search the keyphrase in quotes, and it only returns 10,000 competing sites, you can propably rank your page very easily. Not a lot of traffic, but very little work is involved. Most people don't have domains registered for these low volume terms, many times the keyword phrase is nowhere to be found anywhere in the URL's that show up. So if your domain is banana.com, and you create a page titled "banana smoothies", having the word banana in your domain will help you rank for the term "banana smoothie" Also, many of these longer, lesser searched terms will have a higher cpc. You can also get ideas by looking at google webmaster tools, your site may be showing up for search terms you never even thought of. I don't know how cost effective it would be if you're outsourcing content, but keep in mind that you don't have to register a new domain, and interior pages don't have to be perfect. One of my "micro niche" sites has 15 pages and gets more traffic from the interior pages than the homepage. Good luck

RE: Micro Niche Adsense Site Advice
Just glad I could contribute a little something lol!! Usually when it comes to forums I'm the one asking the questions, but I have picked up a few tricks.
One thing I have learned is that when you're new you have to be flexible with your approach. Creating a page takes about as much time as writing an article for ezine, and it's YOUR page. Some pages end up being harder to rank than others, but when you do, and you add a few hundred visitors every month, I think it's worth it, especially if you're getting clicks in the $5.00 range. Also never count out affiliate programs. Best of luck Michael

RE: Micro Niche Adsense Site Advice
You should add as many pages as possible. Start with 5 pages and then build it up to 10 pages and see how it goes. Get busy building backlinks. Add a new post every week or maybe even once a month, whatever you can manage.
Having more pages on your website, even pages which target keywords with low CPC doesn't take away any money from your main page. If anything having more pages will bring you more money because you will have more pages out there for people to find. You could make your best article with the higher CPC keywords a "sticky" post so this post will always be the 1st post on your site. I have a hobby themed site I made 3+ years ago and haven't touched since. This was the first site I ever made and I made it just for fun and I knew nothing about CPC, Keywords, SEO, or backlinks. I wrote about projects I was making, books I liked and I wasn't trying to sell anything. This site earns $10- $15 a day. I think it's mostly do to the site having well over 60 posts. |

RE: Micro Niche Adsense Site Advice
Sometimes when I add a page that can bring in a decent amount of SE traffic, but has a lower cpc that my home page ads, I'll just exclude it from my homepage menu. That seems to work ok also.

RE: Micro Niche Adsense Site Advice
I just wanted to update my position on this thread. As I stated above, I am new.
I've read (in this forum) that with the new Google algorithm, it benefits you greatly to add all possible related content. And it's also good to backlink to all pages (even those you're not trying to rank) And even if there's not a high cpc, it will bring you traffic (as Daisy said), you can also put affiliate ads on those pages. What I've found is that you can never go wrong adding any kind of new content, whether it's pages, or whatever. And I learned from Vita's vids the importance of having depth to your site. My last page I added gets 5,400 global and 3200 exact monthly searches. I just added the backlink to my squidoo linklists, and I'm on the bottom of page 1. Not bad for 2 hrs work. With a little linkbuilding and a well thought out meta desctiption, I should get a decent amount of traffic from that page. And the cpc is over $1.50 I'm happy ![]() See! Sometimes I do get lucky...
