Internal linking to money page

Hi,

I have a question on internal linking -
The way I have structured my site is -

1) I create lets say a review "post" on my wordpress site - eg: http://abc.com/review/review1 . This is the one to which I create backlinks.
2) I update the site with related articles and add a link with Anchor text to the above post. The article post will be something like http://abc.com/article/article-title

Questions:
1) When I see the backlinks to http://abc.com/review/review1 using yahoo site explorer it shows me Pages (0). I have seen other people do the same site structure but they get Pages (1) which is actually their review page similar to http://abc.com/review/review1.
What I want to know is why is the Pages (0) for me and 1 for them? Is it some setting in Wordpress I am missing?

2) Clicking on the inlinks, where I select "From all Pages" I see that it shows me only external links. However it shows me only 1 internal link from the top level domain - http://abc.com. It does not show me even 1 internal link from the various posts I have made as specified in point 2) above.
Can you please let me know any idea why this is happening. Ideally I would want to see these posts i.e. http://abc.com/article/article-name. Note that this article post is indexed in Google.

Any ideas on the above 2 would be appreciated.

Using tools like Yahoo Site Explorer is a good way to get a general idea of what's going on. If you're looking for exact numbers... well a tool like that doesn't exits. Yahoo will never reveal 100% the information they have and the same goes for Google.

Thanks Nik. But my question is although any tool will not show the exact number of backlinks, I expect to see atleast 1 backlink from these internal pages. I do not see even 1 of them and that is the reason why I am asking this. I am just wondering is there any different setting in Worpress or any different way I should be doing it.

Inserting the links manually is pretty much the best way to do it, since you're inserting the link where it's contextually sound.

You can also use the "internal link building" plugin to automate this. You specify a url and anchor text in the settings, and if this anchor text appears on your website it will link to the url. Here's the download page if you want to try it: http://seoroi.com/feed/

YSE probably just hasn't picked up the links yet. They are far from being up to date in real time. It takes them a while to show links that you know for a fact are there, and even then they probably won't show them all.
