How To Automatically Promote Your Blog Via Social Media Sites

This is a set-by-step guide to promote your blog via social media sites using RSS feeds

1. Get the link to your RSS feed from your blog.

2. Sign up with bit.ly (to shorten your URLs) and have the API key handy.

3. Sing up for TwitterFeed. Put the RSS feeds into TwitterFeed which will automatically and periodically update your Twitter account according to the frequency you set.

4. Set the URL shortener option with bit.ly API within TwitterFeed. It also allows you to prefix or suffix 20 characters for your tweet.

5. You are good to go now, Twitterfeed will automatically send tweets to your Twitter account

6. You open a free Hootsuite account (Twitterfeed will be able to connect with Hootsuite) - Plus, Hootsuite allows you to schedule future status updates so that you not only post links, but also RTs, comments, etc. I understand you should not only just send posts and links but make it a 2 way channel

7. You open a free account in Ping.fm to include your Facebook personal profile, Facebook fan page, LinkedIn profile and over 40 other Social Media sites

8. Only for Twitter: You open a free account in SocialOomph - schedule here automatic welcome messages to new followers... Plus, SocialOomp will send you by e-mail a summary of mentions, so that you can respond to them, thank people who RT your posts, etc.... you can then do this scheduling responses to them via Hootsuite

That's it. You will now never have to manually update your social media sites. That increases your visibility but be sure to have content that is great.

This looks like a very interesting strategy so I have tried to do it but didn't manage to follow all the steps.
At step 6 I got some problems, I would also like to add some details for step 2 and step 4:

For step 2, click on "account" to find your API key.

For step 4, you will have to click on Advanced Settings to find the "Shorten link through" option. Select bit.ly (it was the default for me). Then click on "bit.ly settings" and enter your bit.ly API login and API key.

For step 6, I'm now lost.... I have created my account but what do I do with it?

Please give us more details as this looks like a great tip

myniche > would love to do the videos but that takes time. Maybe VV and I can do a JV and promote this strategy via an affordable video course A lot stupid courses on so called Twitter marketing are flooded on ClickBank. This in my opinion would actually be useful.

Note: The feature similar to Twitterfeed is found under the "RSS/Atom" tab and click "Add New Feed" of HootSuite. I use TwitterFeed for RSS/Atom and Hootsuite for its integration with ping.fm

7. You open a free account in Ping.fm to include your Facebook personal profile, Facebook fan page, LinkedIn profile and over 40 other Social Media sites. Get the ping.fm application key. It is under http://ping.fm/key/ or find on the dashboard under tools.

8. Go back to HootSuite and click the ping.fm tab. Enter the ping.fm application key and select your twitter account. Now every tweet sent via HootSuite will update all your social media sites.
