Creating product

I am a linguist and language teacher, interested in creating language materials for learning languages. Do you guys ever create your own products -well I know Vita Vie does - and do you teach how to put them together?

I've never created my own product. I eventually plan to, not any time soon.

In the meantime though, I have watched this video tutorial and found it extremely informative. I really enjoy Jeff Johnsons videos.

My method is probably going to be the most unorthodox method ever :

First if you want to sell something, sell how to information product. People will pay to get a result. Not because they find you cute. Now if they like you AND they've got results youre in business.

Check clickbank.com in the marketplace. Look at the bullet points of the sales letters and pick the ones which are the most common. And create your product around that.

Create a small report, maybe 30 pages which you are selling for 7$, Answering one of the bullet points, or a common problem. Yahoo Answers and Forums are other places to look.

Create another product the same way

Create a third one.

See the one which is the most successful and update and refine it, doing audio and video courses, raising your prices.

In other words sell solutions to certain problem, throw it out there, and see what's sticking.

I would also recommend creating your product, and selling it for super cheap to forum members so they can critique the product. Getting feedback is vital to good product launches.

I know at WF this is done a lot. It helps the creators to really create some very valuable products as well as get valid testimonials.

I'm in the middle of doing something very similar to ElGatito. The only difference is that I just find experts in a niche and have them do the content. They want the branding/recognition and I want the sales.

Test which angle in that niche works best and target that the most. Then pile all the products together as an upsell.
