SEO vs PPC
It is possible to attack the heaviest markets in PPC - you just need the cash to do it. How can you hope to compete in SEO when you cannot get ranked in the highest value Keywords? Are you guys doing well doing multiple blogs?

RE: SEO vs PPC
You can see it like that, if you have the money you can get the seo ranking with the tools or the services that's not the problem.
Seo's more like a one time investment while you need to constantly pay to get listed.

RE: SEO vs PPC
I disagree MarketingLyon, SEO and PPC can be very similar in terms of how you pay for them. PPC you pay for with money, SEO you pay for with time. In terms of SEO being a one time of investment that is not true; you should always be updating your keywords for your site and making sure your site is maintaining a high ranking.

Also, Shenlord, you don't need to get ranked for the best keywords. You need to find a few select keywords (preferably long-tail) and attack them with full force.

As for what is better, depends on your preference. I like a bit of both, and they can both be very tricky at times. PPC is more dependent on money, and SEO time. But as we know: Time = Money.

I could be wrong but I think the ultimate goal is to make the most out of both SEO and PPC...but you'll be extremely busy as soon as you become good at either one...

Seo is better. If the user is searching for the word Insurance:

Now the users eyes scan from left to right means the search results gets the clicks not the ads.btw most users expect a squeeze page when they click on a sponsored listing.

RE: SEO vs PPC
Seo is better. Most of the surveys prove that majority of surfers ignore ppc ads and most most likely to click on organic results.

RE: SEO vs PPC
SEO is peace of mine if you have no money to invest. With PPC, you can make money fast if you know how to do - but not with google. As you know so many affiliate screaming about their lost and getting slap badly with google.

RE: SEO vs PPC
The percentage of people clicking through to PPC ads is much less than for SEO. But only relying on PPC, a person would be leaving money on the table Smile And you have to pay a lot for it as well..

Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate...

RE: SEO vs PPC
I use direct linking from time to time. But I suggest using a landing page. The direct linking is just for a certain type of promotion that I do.

RE: SEO vs PPC
i tried PPC for a few month, paid $2000-$3000 per month, got some traffic, but conversion rate is really low. So I stopped it. Of course the traffic from PPC stopped.
I would say if i could invest that money in SEO, i could get continuously traffic.

to make a long story short:

ppc: use it for short-term campaigns

seo: use it for long-term campaigns

RE: SEO vs PPC
I just couldnt get on with PPC. I feel much safer using seo knowing that every click I get on my blog is not costing me a small fee.

It also feels a lot more rewarding when you see your site with a double listing at #1 and #2.

RE: SEO vs PPC
It depends. If you want to try your hand at SEO then, because it would be free, it would be better and long lasting (if done correctly). A PPC campaign could be your solution too but it will cost you money and whenever you decide to stop the campaign so stops your web presence in the search engine results pages.

Hiring a search engine optimizer I would think would not usually be a great experience for innocent, vulnerable website owners because there seems to be many SEOs around lately who actually have no SEO skills at all however insane that sounds.

RE: SEO vs PPC
PPC is basically Pay Per Click these techniques are used for sponsored listings and also has the best ROI as compared to other marketing channels which increases your Sales; also it gives following benefits..

it also gives long term and short term benefits..
it increase sales
it gives targeted traffic
It increases ROI

while SEO is the long term process that is basically concerned with manual submissions and gaining quality backlinks..

RE: SEO vs PPC
PPC ads are more expensive, while SEO is a budgeted form of marketing for your site. SEO is also a long-term solution to your SEO needs.

RE: SEO vs PPC
SEO stand for Search Engine Optimization. PPC stand for Pay Per Click.
SEO also called Organic and free search. PPC also called inorganic and paid search.
PPC can be characterised as a quick boost of traffic to a particular site.
SEO is a slower process.
SEO is longer listing and cheaper then PPC.
