NEW Google Keyword tool?
What do you think about the new Google keyword tools? Is the new version, for better or worse?

RE: NEW Google Keyword tool?
Hmm... when did they add that? So far it looks pretty cool.

I like when you click on the magnifying glass, it takes you to Google Insights for Search.

You can easily save and export your words to an excell spreadsheet with search data included.

The search totals are different than in the regular keyword tool. They are far less than even the exact match.

Maybe Vita or other more experienced people can make some more sense of it.

I think that anything we get as a tool can have some good uses, especially if it comes from Google. They have good reason to give us accurate information. When we optimize our pages for the keywords people are actually searching for or use them in our adwords campaigns, we are giving the users what they want. That helps Google because as long as they are giving the users what they want, Google will stay in business.

RE: NEW Google Keyword tool?
Guys, don't really know what you are speaking of...
Do you refer to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal ?
In my case, it looks absolutely the same as always... And I use the .com site.
But again, I am not located in USA...

RE: NEW Google Keyword tool?
Thank you for the link!

Now, I never had an Adwords account, but a gmail email address, so I signed up. I am now trying to see if I can get some ideas from my competitors, but I always get "This website is not associated with your AdWords account. You're seeing a limited set of keyword ideas, which may include those already in your account and may or may not be currently active for this website."

Any outside the box idea about how to use this tool?

Thank you!

RE: NEW Google Keyword tool?
I use the regular keyword tool for keyword research/ideas, not really for my adwords account. I'm sure this tool will be valuable for that as well.

I have only dabbled in adwords. I don't know a whole lot about it. There is a complete art and science to succeeding with adwords. You could loss A LOT of money.

Like I said though, that tool can be used for keyword research and ideas. You can get some good information from Google with it's tools.

I also like Google Trends and Google Insights... great tools.

RE: NEW Google Keyword tool?
I've been using the new one too — what's weird is that I have a link to the "new" tool (supposedly in beta), and I *also* have a link a little bit down the page to the SK Tool — each link goes to a different place, but the tool sure looks almost exactly the same.

Also, according to Google itself:
Quote:Why do search volume statistics vary between keyword tools?

The updated Keyword Tool combines search data across Google.com and all affiliated search properties. Data from the Search-based Keyword Tool is based solely on searches on Google.com. Numeric data between the tools may also differ due to rounding.

So it would seem that the new tool and the SK tool are not *exactly* the same in terms of the data they return...interesting.
