My 1st Launch

After watching Vita Vee's video's , he inspired me to do a product launch. Now i am new and have a lot of questions, so i want to keep this little thread/post going so i do not flood the room with all my stupid question I have and this might become useful to others.

I have abut 3 weeks to prepare for this launch, I am not expecting to make any sells as i am doing this for learning purposes but i will be ex-tactic if i actually do make a sell. My goal is to make 1 sell or commission.



#1. I starting out with a money/landing/squeeze page. I took off adsense and all other clickable things off but to product it self , I left 2 or 3 links linking deeper into the site for like bonus page and Creators.

Now I used senuke and made web 2.0 sites, bookmarked, and rss feeds. I added more backlinks to high pr sites from Angel's list and others i found making sure they are all do follow.

Questions

#1. I will try to post every 2 or 3 days to every site. Is that enough or do i need to post more?

#2. After making all the pages, links, and pinging them, i am not showing any back links at all. I used market samurai and about 7 or 8 pages to check backlinks and they show 0. Is this normal or how long does it take to show up.? Is this the only way to move up in search engine.

#3. I am #1, and have about 5 or so pages on google search but only 58 total lol. All this is in Phrase Search

On broad search there are like 600,000 and i have 2 pages in the 50's and 1 in the 70's

Is there any hope to moving up in the rankings? More question will follow as to bonuses and sign in boxes.

Should the Affiliate company provide you with pictures,video,reviews or any information at all instead of just a launch date? Seems to me they would try to give you all the info they can to help sells.

If they do supply this, what kind of time frame does this happen? I know everyone is different but usually, when are they suppose to supply this information(if they do) 1,2,3 weeks before the launch? I have no information to work with and my competitors all have the same as me.

well since no one will answer my question. I emailed them and they said promotional information is on the way. I guess i will just keep searching for for my answers at other places

Hi Vinny. Sorry, I guess everyone is busy at the moment, with Christmas coming and all. I'm up to my neck in work myself He he.

1. I guess that you should try to post as much as you can. Don't just limit yourself to 2 or 3 days.

2. Links, don't usually show that fast. Normally will take several days, or even weeks sometimes I guess. Remember to ping all your sites after you're done to get them found faster.

3. For that, I guess how much you move up in the rankings depends on how much you build backlinks to your site, and refresh your content.

Yes, I guess the people doing the launch will sometimes give the reviews and normally all the other things such as banners and such. Just shoot them an email and ask them and they'll reply you. When they are able to give you those stuff all depends on whether they are ready with it or not...

Thanks for the info Infinty. It took a few days and i am now showing 2 backlinks out of the hundred i made. Hope full more will show up soon. I guess i was expecting results in a few days instead of weeks.

I have contacted them and they said material will be coming shortly again i guess i am just a little impatient lol. I am learning as i go.

Hi Vinny,

Don't lose time to check how many backlinks you have.
Google finds 95%+ of your backlinks for sure but there is NO tool that shows you all of them.

Google doesn't show them intentionally.

For example I have a page that is ranking #1 for my main keyword, Google shows 1 backlink to it! Yahoo Explorer shows 127 (so do Backlinkwatch.com and Market Samurai and KE as they use yahoo as their source)

But I have thousands of backlinks to that page in reality.

About the materials from the product vendors, you have to ask them for a review copy if you want to give more information to your readers than your competitors. The more reviews you have written the easier it becomes. Now many vendors send me their products without me asking for them. But even when you are not known some will gladly accept. Don't be intimidated and tell them that you know how to write compelling reviews and to rank them high on google for the product name.

Thanks for the information Vita Vee I thought the backlinks was an impairment . I guess the important part is just to have them and not worry about seeing them.

Now on bonuses. I am trying to find a few complementary items to give out as bonus but that is a lot harder than it sounds. I have not made any videos or wrote any of my own books since i only been at this about a month or so.

I do not want to just give out trashy PLR Ebooks and it seems like all the good MMR stuff i buy and found all have can not give away for free or package as a bonus.

Does anyone recommend a site that can help me picking the right bonus that i can buy and add to my package? Lot of the items i found on warrior forum is mostly ebooks that can not be packaged. When i do a search i see a lot of 25 gig or 50 gig mmr stuff but all old and out dated.

I allready have over 1 million PLR articles and crap but nothing that really complements the product , LOL well it is hard to complement the product when i have not had a chane to review it yet.

I will email them right now and ask for a review copy.

Ok now after i make web 2.0 sites and post comments on them, (i have about 4 or 5 post) using seuke, do i just keep making new post to the same sites or would it be better to make new accounts with names and email and tie them all in, or just try to be a completely fifferent person linking to the original post and landing page?

Todays update. Wrote a 900 word post cut it in half and posted with senuke to all sites , booked marked, and submitted rss feeds, about to ping every thing. Have part #2 ready for a post tomorrow.

I am still in my never ending search for something decent for a mrr bonus product and still have not found anything. Still working on backlinks and i guess i need to learn how to set up an opt in box or what ever you call it.

Todays update.

I think finished putting together a good bonus package but not going to revel it just yet. I need to get information on the product first to see if my bonus is any good. Went and posted the 2nd part of my post to all web 2.0 sites and noticed i had a few of them closed down. I am on my way to investigate the reason and maybe create new ones. After that i will ping everything.

I hope i am on the right track of doing things. My goal is just to make 1 sell.

Well I have another update as if anyone would care about it lol.

I had about 3 or 4 sites that had been closed for some reason and hub pages unpunished me saying to many links and linking to another place. Weird because I only had about 4 or so post on hub pages with no more than 2 links per post or capsule. Wiki spaces deleted my account also. Well after messing around I noticed i been screwing up. When i try to post to the same article i never saved the project and always started fresh each time, so when trying to post it always made new pages and never under the same post. What a mess. So I went to each page and manually fixed all this crap deleting pages and putting my post all in order.

Made a new profile, then spent over half the day writing a small spinnable bio and reg post crap saying I am happy to be making this blog. Made new accounts and posted to all. I did not put 1 link in them. I want to try making 2 or 3 post before i start putting links into them.

If anyone is reading this, Am I on the right track of doing things? I am shooting for my 1 sell goal.

Tomorrow I will have to research and learn about opt-in boxes and how to set them up. All i see is aweber all over but i do not know anything at all. Do i need a box or program and a company like aweber just gives me a code? Do I need to have an opt-in box since i have 0 names and worse 0 traffic. Averaging 6 people a day, 9 people yesterday wooohooo. This seems real bad but i keep telling my self that this is a product launch and they did not even release information to us yet. Around 18 days or so left so i hope information comes soon.

Anything That i can do to get closer to my 1 sell goal? Am I leaving anything out?

Thanks for keeping us up to date.

Hubpages - did the same think to me. I don't use them anymore. I don't know how they pick which hubs to lock and which not to lock but I saw so many hubs that were on the same topic as mine and they were not locked and could be read and they had links in them. I haven't used them since.

Wordpress - suspended my account and I didn't have ONE link in any of my articles. So all the links that were going to that article went to a page that said this account has either been archived or suspended. So I don't use Wordpress anymore either. I know Vita said we need them but I did one article about the swine flu for my health site and they took it down. Why? I have no idea, it was an original very informative well written article with not one single link in it.

DiaryLand - has a contest going on with it's members to find spammers, you don't have a chance what-so-ever there. Every time I go there now they tell me 'I've been identified as a spammer and to go away.'

Thoughts - I think emailed me and told me they took my stuff down.

Xanga - I know for sure emailed me and took me they took my stuff down.

Terapad - just kept taking my stuff down without telling me anything which really was a waste of my time because I spent way to much time trying to figure out why I couldn't post to them or login to my website.

So I would create another website thinking that for some reason my password was messed up or I didn't have the right web address or something.

When I realized what was going on, I made sure to keep my website information for Terapad in notepad and when I couldn't get on, I used that information which I knew was correct and it just kept taking me back to the sign up page.

I don't use them anymore either.

We should start a thread of sites that we have issues with.

I think you're on the right track - you're doing someithing. You're creating an experience you'll learn from.

I'm doing a launch right now also and it goes live soon.

I know what you mean by them not supplying you with much information. The one I'm doing is horrible. When they did finally give us some information - I posted it to tons of articles, only to find out that the link they gave out POINTED TO LAST YEARS PAGE!!

What a real mess!!

My advise - check all the links they give you before posting them.

Vita said to ask them for more information and I plan on doing that next launch.

As for your autoresponder, Vita uses cforms which is a wordpress plugin and cheaper then aweber because it's free .

I was totally intimidated by this thing but spent yesterday putting it together and found out it's pretty simple to use. Although one of my forms didn't come out right, I have the hang of it.

You should try it, Vita has a link to it somewhere on here but I think all you have to do is google cforms or check for it in the plug in section of your wordpress admin area.

I also had a hard time getting a better position on page one so I created other accounts and used them to promote the pages that were promoting my landing page. Get it? I also used them to promote each other, thinking that would make them stronger which would in turn make my landing page stronger.

I still can't get to the top of the page for the main keyword though - maybe next launch.

As for your bonus, did you check out the warrior forum like Vita suggested? Lots of really nice stuff there.

At least you have traffic coming to your website - my only traffic is myself from all the articles and backlinks I'm putting up. Even though someone did find me in the search engines but it was something totally obscure that not a single thing to do with the topic of my website.

Just keep doing it vinny, right now we're in a learning phase, before you know it you'll be raking in the dough

Ok quick post here. I have a few questions.

Can some one point me into the right directing on dealing with this?

#1. How to set up a download page? I uploaded my bonus offer to multiple sites like rapide share, hot file and other direct download sites but I think it would be a lot better to just have a download page then if I do actually make a sell they will get the link or pass to get the bonus through auto responder. This would be a lot better than me just emailing them a list of all the sites to download it from.
Do I just make a sub-directory and upload the files there? How do i open it for access or how do i set up all this including auto responder. I Know this will not be needed since it is ver doubtfull i Will make my 1 sell goal but at least i will learn for next go around.

#2. I have about 4 or 5 new pages on my site including landing page. I have 2 or 3 of the pages as in the top 8 on google but on keywords of the product itself. other keywords have the sites showing like in the 50's or 60's.

Now on major keywords, I know there is no chance in hell I will get on the top page on these bad boys but i am showing That i am in the 400's and 600's page lol Is there anyway at all to get this up? I am excited to even be listed on these major keywords.

Kind of seems this battle may be over.

@vinnychase Very interesting thread About your latest questions you should definitely setup an autoresponder and give the links to your downloads in your welcome email (the 1st email of your autoresponder series).

If someone contacts you and claims his bonuses, you first send them a link to a private page on your blog as well as a password to access the page. You can easily setup such pages with wordpress, just create a page and there's a field to enter a password and make the page private.

On this private page you put the HTML code that your autoresponder service gives you so if your customer wants to get access to the bonuses he has no choice except subscribing to your list. 100% of them will do. (Well for me anyway I have never seen someone refusing to subscribe).

About the keywords, what do you call major keywords? For a product launch there's just 3 keywords you should focus on and among them the exact product name should get 80% of all your efforts. This is this one that will bring you the most targeted traffic (and also the highest search volume and more importantly the highest number of sales).

@fingerling: Thanks for the list of the websites closing your accounts. Try to use a proxy server when you register on those sites, maybe they have blacklisted your IP. For example with xanga I have several blogs containing several posts and all of them have several links to my different sites and they don't get closed.

One thing that might help also is to create your accounts 2 or 3 days before actually using them. A lot of people create accounts but don't use them. During those 2 or 3 first days this is possible that a human editor inspects your account. If he doesn't find anything, not even a single post (that might look spammy depending on what you say, even WITHOUT links) then you have higher chances to keep your account safe.

About CFORMS, this plugin doesn't replace an autoresponder service. This is just a way for a visitor to contact us. Once he contacts us we send him to our subscription page where we need to have an optin box leading to an autoresponder sequence (that you create through a company like aweber or prosender for example)

Thanks for the info. As you can see, I am completely new to all of this. I feel like a dumba$$.

As for keywords I have ranking at

#1 on my exactdomain name with the exact product name in domain
#5 spot on exact product name
#8 spot on product name with another word added in
A few in the 20's with exact product name with 1 added word
A few in 300's & 500's area for major keyword

What i consider a major keyword for example: Instead dog chewing toys i would have the keyword dogs I thought that would be a major keyword

I would like to put all my site info on here and let everyone look it over and tell me what i may be doing wrong but i am sure that many of us here are on the same launch and Someone might give me bad information to harm me. LOL Even though this is for training I still have a 1 sell goal i would like to make and i think or hope I can get a little advise until someone will see me as a competitor then i might not get any good advise anymore. I will release the site name 1 or 2 days before the launch for a quick overview to where i can make improvements. I am sure many know where I am located anyway and it is not a big secret.

I Never knew about the password protected page. That helps me out a lot. Now i can start setting that up with the bonus stuff.

#1. After setting up the New private Page. Do I make a new directory on my hosting account and upload everything to there and if so, how does one set it up to download the items? or am I way Off base here?

A Little update for today. Wrote a 350 word ready to spin article in power article rewriter. Transferred to senuke and went post to all sites on the new profile i made. I think this is the 3rd post in 3 or 4 days on this profile and so far I only put in 1 link total. Well I see I now have wiki spaces deleted me, thoughts deleted me, @wiki deleted me and i can never log into terapad. Google sites did not delete my account but it deleted my blog/post. I can still log in and see my post but it says no longer can be found.

Went to hubpages and manually added post and only have 1 link in that hole post linking back to landing page. I have a few e-books and videos I will start watching tonight on SEO and PPC.

Is PPC A Must? I am about to start studying on PPC. I Still get no traffic but i guess that can be expected since there is no launch yet.

Ok Little update.

I am lazy today so I will not be doing much. I figured out how to set the download links this morning around 2 am. Still uploading the package, about 700 megs.

Was wondering if I can use c-forms as a way to start off list making? I think getting aweber right now will be kind of worthless since I have no list at all and no traffic. Once or if I actually do get a few names to start a list I can later transfer it to aweber at a latter time.

Would this work? Well I am studying now on how to set up c-forms. I will get started on writing a few spin-able articles to post to the 60 something sites i made. Kind of out of ideas on what to write about since they never gave us information.

Any tips on getting higher rankings on different keywords? Do I just start using other keywords in my post or do I make new pages that focus on those keywords? I am completely lost on this part and do not even know what to look up to get started. I can see how helpful this board is. All the people here and only got 2 reply's. I guess you have to be in the click to get answers. Might have to move my thread to somewhere else where i can get some input.

Hey Vinny,

PPC is definitely not a MUST. For the product launch business I'm using PPC extremely rarely.

But if you are confident that your review and bonus offer are great, then having a PPC campaign might bring you extra profits with almost 0 effort.

About C-Form I wrote above that it doesn't replace the need of an autoresponder. It doesn't even store the email address or contact name of the persons sending you messages:

But you can skip this autoresponder step for now if you don't want to spend money on this. After making some profits you will be able to subscribe to aweber or another service.

About what to write:

Maybe some other affiliates have been able to get access to the course. Did you read the reviews posted on some other sites? You could take some inspiration from them. Try to email the vendor every day asking for a review copy until he gives you one Tell him your plans and that you're working seriously to get good rankings for his product. If he refuses and you get good ranking you can post a BAD review about his product Just kidding of course... Seriously, many vendors accept to give review copies, even to affiliates that have no track record. Ask for anything that they have that could help you and THEM having a great review, even if what they give is still work in progress.

The main reason some vendors don't reply is because their product is not complete. For a recent promotion I did, the product vendor finished the product a few hours before launch time And I helped them to fix a bug. So when you ask for a review copy tell them that if the product is not complete you will take this into account in your review.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the other sites and no one has information. I have emailed them a few times but all i got was an answer from the 1st email saying info is on the way. Never got an answer for the review copies but i believe they must still be working on it. It is still about 2 or 3 weeks away from launch. I maybe jumping the gun a little but this is my first one and I am learning. next time i will do 2 at a time.(if I do make my 1 sell goal). After checking all the other sites we all have almost the same information which is hardly nothing and i think i have more than them.

i also put in there site to check backlinks and then went get the same back links I guess My project now will try to get those pages out of the 30's and try to get them to first page by making back links to those pages.
