About the prices, it all depends on who bid on your projects and who you chose to work with. My advice is to NOT select the lowest bid except if you don't care about the quality. As a general rule you get what you pay for on this kind of market place. In the past I made this mistake (to select the lowest bid) and I had to throw the work I received as it was really unusable. RE: Landing Pages...Where Do You Getem?
Re: Free Landing Pages
Once you get one (a landing page template) what do you do with it? Open it up with an html editor and enter your own content and graphics. You want a WYSIWYG editor (What You See Is What You Get). These are a lot like using any word editor from Microsoft or Apple. My favorite FREE html editor is Kompozer. It comes out of the mozilla (firefox) projects. Get it here: http://kompozer.net/ There's a very good tutorial here: http://www.charlescooke.me.uk/web/kz-ug-home.htm what I like is that it is very well indexed (makes it easy to look up what you want to learn) and it has lots of screen shots. There are also lots of video tutorials on YouTube on how to use Kompozer. But I haven't come across a particularly good one yet. Your biggest challenge in the beginning will be wrapping your mind around the differences between handling html files on you computer and handling html files on your server. How to find it, upload it, name it, and all of that stuff. Cooke's tutorial should be very helpful & and don't forget to search Google for anything else you need to figure this out. |

My husband will also be promoting a physical product, related to musical instruments. More importantly, the term "landing page" (in common practice) is strictly focused to get the user to complete a specific action, typically used with ppc. Here's a perfect example: Do a google search for "structured cash settlement" You'll see ads for PeachTreeFinancial.com Instead of just taking a user to their main webpage, which contains generalized content about the company, they take them here: http://www.peachtreefinancial.com/landin...5QodOXrDbA Their landing page is designed to do nothing but GET THE LEAD. Normal landing page content may be too obtrusive and aggressive on the main page of a site, but are typically necessary when you're paying for traffic. In your case, with an ecommerce site, you might not need an actual "landing page" used traditionally. You would suffice most likely by directing any paid traffic to any given deep linking product specific page.
