Best way to learn adwords..

I have almost no clou about adwords - so I wonder what would be the best way to start learning more about it...

Should I use the adwords learning center since I expect the information there to be up to date or are there better ways to start e.g. with an ebook...

Chris Carpenter's Google Cash System is probably the best way to start with adwords.

Try Perry Marshall's The definitive guide to adwords.

It is by far the best resource I have found and is updated for the latest version.

Most of adwords is just testing, testing, and even more testing. Copy other affiliates that have had ads up for a month+ for the offer you want to promote. If they are spending money on it for that long, they are definitely making money. Also make sure to change it up a little bit and give it your own uniqueness.

i think there is a big difference between the google how to and the perry marshal book and video.

whilst google teach you how to setup up step by step it is rather clinical.
perry marshal and others like the dummies guide to adwords (which you can get from Amazon) give you more of a heartbeat approach and let you know why you should do things a certain way.

Get a hold on Perry Marshall's ebooks. They're according to me the best ebooks for ppc. Unfortunately they're quite expensive.

There are several eBooks around that are quite good such as the one by Perry Marshall. You can also join wealthyaffiliate for a few months and the owners will provide some sort of mentoring.

Not sure if their is any thing like a free-trial in Adwords, but if you want to understand Adwords better would recommend you do Watch video on You tube about Ad words success stories.

I would add to the other replies by saying that one of the best things about Adwords is that YOU are under total control of how much you spend so it's possible to get a decent idea of how Adwords works without spending more than a tenner.

At the end of the day, the only way to really get to see how Adwords works is by doing it 'for real' and that will mean spending some money. BUT if you approach it in the right way, that spend can be kept under very tight control and you may see it return in profits from day one.

Anyway, I hope that I have given you a good idea that Adwords is very complicated.

That's for sure that Adwords is complicated but let me tell you a short story.

A couple of months ago i was auditing the account of an e-commerce merchant. The guy running the website had almost no clue about how to run Adwords campaigns (he's an engineer who started his online side business 6 months ago).

I was surprised when i saw that he was spending almost 15K$/month on PPC

This guy was running 5 campaigns with just a couple of keywords each.

As far as i'm concerned i really do enjoy the Glenn Livingston way of managing adwords campaigns so i usually use highly focused keywords.

This time i was completely shocked.

Within his campaigns all keywords were in broad match, and usually it was just one keyword not even pairs of keywords...

This guy used such broad keywords that i would have never dared to run a campaign with this.

Bottome line is, this guy is doing 8K$ of net profits each month.

As a lot of internet marketers use the same training material we end-up doing all the same things.

Sometimes you can just do it without over sophistication and you might be surprised with the results.

Of course learning Adwords 101 won't hurt and don't forget that when you start the adwords game you should always afford to loose your advertising budget resulting of a negative ROI.

Also look around for the $100 free from Google to start up.. the coupons are supposed to be for first timers, but I have seen them used by folks over and over again..
You can search google for them or you can set up an adwords account and if you don't start for 30 days or more they send you a hundred buck coupon to get you off your but..

I think its best to start with a free voucher and once your campaign is making profit after testing, you can play with real money
