Few newbie questions???

Hi all. i have a small question i have read that picking a domain name with the keywords in it works very good as SEO matter but:

1- this is not always applicable e.g in CBquantum if all .com,org,info and others are taken so you have no chance. i have tried to modify the domain for example dding numbers to it e.g CBquantum1 but found that there is a big difference as regard results in google.(N.B i have not tried to promote this product but this is put as an example)

2- This was not the way Vita dealt with in his great course (from 0 to profits). his domain was cotyewen.com so my question is could we pick any domain and rely more on SEO wordpress plugins like (Headspace)as vita did as he ranked higher in search engines as i saw by this way and can this replace the domain name problem mentioned above.

3- does free hosting works as good as paid ones as regard ranking in search engines?
e.g does cbquantum.com works like cbquantum.anyhost.com

4- if i made apost to my blog and then modified it 3-4 times does this ping my list every time i modify the post or the ping is only done upon the first post and if so is this considered a spam?

5- One last question : wonder how do i join the private area should i have to pay anything?

Keyword in domain name is a very useful aspect of SEO but it is only one factor. Yes keyword in your title and in headers are also valuable but keyword in domain name has more boost

However some people go for branding if they think they can get a large number of do follow backlinks that will help them in the SEO department

With regards to free hosted vs self hosted sites, blogspot is a great example of free hosted blogs that do very well in the search engines

SEO is multi-factorial and you cannot depend on any one factor. It is a synergy of different factors

Another good thing to remember about using the keyword phrase in the domain is when you are not able to use hypertext and can only use your domain name...it works double duty for you as the domain name is the keyword phrase you would have used as the hypertext (or at least close to it).

Don't forget that Google does not pay attention to "stop" words (ie. in, of, the...). So you can freely use these in your domain name without harm.

Also, Google does not mind a single dash in your domain-name, it only thinks it's a spam type name if you have many dashes (according to a Matt Cutts interview).
