Online Retail Store/Physical Product
I've mentioned in previous posts that my husband and I have an online retail store. I've been introduced to internet marketing via the 30 Day Challenge and am learning so much!
A lot of what I am reading relates to affiliate products or mostly informational products. My husband is dubious about internet marketing because we sell actual products. There is not much opportunity to sell repeat items, although some accessories need to be replaced so we could create a follow-up program for customers. My question is, can all these techniques work for a retail store/physical product? I'm feeling overwhelmed because I feel like I would need to do it for each individual item! |

RE: Online Retail Store/Physical Product
Hi Minxie,
I'm having an online store as well. Though I'm doing affiliate marketing also . The core principles are really the same. You're always promoting a money site. And one of your money sites in your retail store could be a category page, or a product page you would like to have ranked higher in the search engine. Maybe some of the tactics shown here aren't the right thing for you, but I'm sure you'll learn a lot...also for your online store ![]() If you have any questions just let us know. Thanks SaSh! I'm over eager to immediately implement everything I'm learning! It's hard to restrain myself and really understand everything to figure out what will work for our products.

RE: Online Retail Store/Physical Product
I know it's hard to restrain yourself. Try to think about one thing you''l definitely need to learn to grow in your business. And then focus on a particular technique for that. If you try 10 techniques in one time, you also don't know which one is working and which one not.

Look amazon.com, it is a perfect example. When you purchase something there, it shows you what the other customers who purchased that item also purchased. It happened to me several times to look at these related or complementary items and to purchase them myself. Or look at dell.com. They sell computers. We don't change our computers every week but they regularly send limited time discounts for new computers. One day or another such a discount becomes of interest to you and you jump on the offer. If you miss one discount that's not really a problem because they just create new discount offers on a regular basis. Dell and amazon are two of the biggest physical product vendors who operate online. Take your inspiration from what they do because it works very well. RE: Online Retail Store/Physical Product
Doesn't really matter. You'll still have to collect sales taxes to shipments to customers in your home state. And your home state can still levy income taxes on whatever income you earn regardless of where your DBA cert is filed -- which probably needs to be in your home state anyway.
