The PPC Bully guys had a seminar with Howie on niche research. How Howie uses the simple Google search to uncover some long tail niche ideas is absolutely masterful.

Youtube also has the Wonder Wheel function. It's located under the "Advanced Options" link to the right of the drop down filter menus. Great to use when doing keyword research on Youtube combined with the Youtube Suggestion Tool - https://ads.youtube.com/keyword_tool

However, I've found the Wonder Wheel icon doesn't appear on 100% of searches. Couldn't tell you why.

xochi, I remembered Howie Schwartz saying that not everyone would have that option on theirs, but he had a solution. I couldn't remember it but I found this link that should help:

What I would like to know is exactly what Silo sites are. In using the Wonder Wheel, or even not using it, does it mean that you start your site with the first/main keyword for the "home" page, and then build out, and link to other pages on your site with the longer tail keywords?

it generate much more details than google free keyword tool

maybe because they combine all the tools available and put it into one powerful summary sheet.
