Graphic Design people?

Hey all...

Been a while since I have posted but I haven't been too far away as I've been checking in for a read every now and then...

Anyways... back to reason for the post...

Does anyone here do any graphic design work? or know of someone who you have used before who you can recommend?

I've been developing some software and need a logo done up for the branding. There is more work than just the logo but that is the centre piece so I need that right first.

I wanted to throw this out to this forum before heading to WF or elance or something similar...

Yes, I would be interested. But...

Normally I charge my clients minimum US$500 for a logo. Normally more... So you may or may not be interested. As nowadays, I see that people online prefer a cheaper solution if it is for a small venture...

Of course, you don't have to pay if you are not satisfied at the end.

But just curious, what type of software are you developing? You can PM me if you don't want to post it here.

P.S. Umm... I don't do designs that are bad or ugly. So if you want me to design something like that, I won't be able to accept your job.

I'm not kidding, as I sometimes have clients with horrible taste that want me to design something for them and they tell me exactly what they want and how I should do it, and the result is something that is so bad that a kindergarten student could have done it.

Normally, I have a feeling of hatred for myself and experience some emotional trauma (lol) after designing something like that for them, even if they strongly insist on it, so I no longer accept such requests. I only design beautiful and nice stuff, so you will have to trust me on that to some extent.

Of course, I will accept your opinion as long as it is reasonable... Sorry. I am too demanding about "art".

P.P.S. Oh, at the same time as studying and learning design through the years, I also studied and was taught marketing as well (and in many cases it was a must of course), so I'm not just someone who designs for the sake of art or just something that looks good, but I also I do take into account the aspects of marketing and drawing people in when designing... Reaching the target market with the appropriate designs, as well as the emotion that should be felt, etc.

I understand completely what you are saying Infinity... I ran an IT business for almost a decade and although websites weren't my main thing i used to do them as I enjoyed it... but the biggest problem was trying to replicate what the client wanted... and it looking awful... so i used to create 2 sites... one i wanted and the one they wanted... that way i felt good that i showed them a good product... even if they still wanted their design...

i've had logo's done previously for a range of businesses for a range of prices... and had good and bad experiences at both ends of the pricing scale...

but i'd much prefer to work with someone i "know" than to give the work to some random for the sake of saving a few dollars... and if it wasn't for something "special" i would just do it myself and be happy with it looking crap-ish

I too like Infinity do the same thing because I understand design, programming and marketing I take to take into account everything. Not just wack it up and hope for the best.
