When you apply to their Associate Program, they look at all the sites, mobile apps, and social network accounts you have listed in your application.

For websites:

If you don’t have at the bare minimum 10 posts with robust original content, they will reject your application.

For mobile apps:

They must comply with their mobile application policy

For your social network accounts:

They must be with public access (no closed groups), with a good amount of organic followers and likes (at least 500 followers).

In any case, be patient – I have seen in some instances the approval process takes more than a month!

Find THEIR affiliates and see how they promote your competitors. Contact the ones you like the most and offer them a better commission plan if you can.

So how do you do that?

1. By searching for your competitors’ product names suffixed with “review” on Google.
   
2. Then, by entering the domain name of your competitors in SimilarWeb.com and see who is sending them the most traffic.

Products that have been affected by Amazon’s decision:

Not all categories of Amazon’s program have been impacted by this drop. The list of affected products concerns, in particular, those in high demand currently, due to the confinement imposed in many countries:

• Furniture, home renovation, products for gardens and pets: commission reduction from 8% to 3%,
• Headphones, cosmetics, musical instruments, commercial and industrial supplies: from 6% to 3%,
• Outdoor products and tools: from 5.5% to 3%,
• Groceries: from 5% to 1%,
• Products for sports, babies and childcare: from 4.5% to 3%,
• Hygiene and health: from 4.5% to 1%,
• Amazon Fresh: 3% to 1%.
